TOWN OF ROMULUS OVERVIEW

The Township of Romulus developed from Military Tract Bounty Land given to veterans of the Revolutionary War.  Romulus was formed in 1794, which at that time encompassed all lands northward to the shores of Lake Ontario.   

The Town is beautifully situated at the heart of the Finger Lakes between Seneca and Cayuga lakes.  Romulus is predominately agricultural and tourism centered while possessing a former military base that is actively working to develop business and employment opportunities.

The Next Romulus Town Board Meeting Will Be Wednesday, June 17th at 7:30pm

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Romulus shall hold a pubic hearing on

the following proposed Local Law at the Town Office Building, 1435 Prospect Street, Willard, New York

14588 at 7:30pm on the 17th day of June, 2015; Proposed Local Law No. A of the year 2015: "A local

law to eliminate the elected position of Superintendent of Highways and replace it with an appointed

position of Superintendent of Highways."

Anyone wishing to petition the board please call the office by 12:00 the Thursday before the meeting.

STEPS  1) Our workgroup on Increasing Economic & Educational Opportunities is meeting on Monday,

June 1st, at 8am at Tastes of Wine Country on Route 96A in Ovid.  What an awesome way

to begin the week - breakfast and a chat!  The breakfast buffet will cost $7.95 plus tax.  We

are ready to "get down to business" on supporting our local businesses, ideas to bring in more

income, and creating more educational opportunities for our kids, our families, and our seniors.

2) On Wednesday, June 3rd, our Improving Our Physical Environment workshop group is

meeting at the Mama Bear builidng in Ovid. Did you hear a rumor aboua town mural?

If you're ready to work on our community's green spaces, or the quality of our homes

and buildings, we would love to have you join.

Bring proof of prior vaccination, without it this will be a one year vaccination

Dogs should be on leashes, cats must be in secure containers, animals must be at

least 3 MONTHS OF AGE to receive rabies shots  ALL CHILDREN MUST BE

SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES    DONATIONS APPRECIATED

 

The Next Planning Board Meeting will be Monday, June 1st at 7:00pm

Citiva Medical will be here for an informal discussion regarding construction

a 90,000 SF Greenhouse and a 36,000 SF Process Facility on 2 existing

concrete pads at the Seneca Army Depot.

Mark your calendars for the 2015 Dumpster Days.  The town will accept a drivers license or a

previous years dumpster day permit as proof of residency.

Dumpsters will be located at the Log City Road Transfer Station Location.  Should you need

            55-gallon drums

            Paint Cans Containing Wet Paint (can take them if they are empty and paint is dry)

            Hazardous Materials, Propane Tanks, Asbestos, Medical wastes or radioactive waste

            Gasoline, Oil or Solvents and their containers

            Pesticides

            No yard waste, shingles or other construction debris

            No Business Waste

**We can only take appliances if the freon has been removed and red tagged by a specialist**
